Jacqueline A. Young's Obituary
Jacqueline Ann Young, age 91, of Spring Lake, MI, met her Savior on Saturday, February 22, 2025. She was born on February 26, 1933, in Spring Lake to George Edward and Marie McLellan. She married Hilmer J. Clausen in July of 1952, and they spent many wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 1973. In 1978 she married Buck Young, and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on February 16, 2025. In her younger years she was employed by Spring Lake Public Schools in the lunch program, then later she worked for Haven Floral and Clyde Hendricks Realtor. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida, making floral arrangements, and doing craft activities. She had a good eye for decor, and she enjoyed her coffee and Norm’s ice cream. She loved her Lord and Savior and desired others to know him, too. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spring Lake. She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: LaVonne (Jim) Almond and Sheryl (Steve) Carlisle; three stepdaughters: Rochelle (Ward) VanDam, Debra (Dale) Dykema, and Laurie (Jerry) Boyer; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her spouses, she was preceded in death by her stepson, James “Jimmy” Young in 2023, and two sisters and their spouses: Alberta (Teaphel) McMahon and Marian (Dan) Westra. A FUNERAL will be held for Jacqueline at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Spring Lake, 118 E. Exchange St, Spring Lake, MI, 49444, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Harbor Hospice Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
