Jacquelynn D. "Jackie" Russell's Obituary
Mrs. Jacquelynn D. “Jackie” Russell, age 73, passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at Golden Years Personal Care Home. She was born April 20, 1936 in Traverse City, MI to Lawrence H. and Lydia A. (Harig) McMahon and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. On May 16, 1964, she married John L. “Jack” Russell in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2001. Jackie had worked as a cashier for The Fair, Grossman’s Department Store, Yankee’s and Zody’s before retiring in 2000. She was a member of Orchard View Congregational Church and had been affiliated with Fellowship Reformed Church Senior’s Citizens Center and Bible Study Group. Jackie enjoyed cake decorating, sewing, shopping, photography, and camping. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Tony Hiner of Muskegon, MI, Linda (Robert) Fonger of Muskegon, Charles (Linda) Hiner of Hugo, MN, Ed (Sally) Hiner of Shepherd, MI, John (Kim) Russell of Spring Lake; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Ed (Alice) McMahon of Muskegon, Jim (Sharon) McMahon of Muskegon, Jean (Ken) Baum of Muskegon and Leon (Carolyn) McMahon of Traverse City; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 2 infant sons and her parents. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 7, 2009 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with the Rev. Thomas Beetham officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Friday.
