James Larry Aldridge's Obituary
James Larry Aldridge, age 75, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Trinity Health Hospital in Muskegon. He was born October 8, 1947, to Edgar L. and Marion (Hodge) Aldridge. He married Michelle Kathleen McKenzie on June 21, 1969, at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church.
Larry retired from Spring Lake Schools after thirty years as earth science teacher. He also has served as director of Spring Lake Area Recreation Department for over forty years. Larry was a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church, Spring Lake Country Club, coached Spring Lake Football and basketball, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and adores his grandchildren.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Michelle “Shelley” Aldridge; two daughters, Melinda “Mindy” (Mike) Erffmeyer and Elizabeth (Brad Palma) Aldridge; four grandchildren: Owen Lynch, Parker Lynch, Madeline Gustafson and Simon Gustafson; his sister, Cindy (Steve) Petersen; his brother, Paul (Joyce) Aldridge; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved beagle Lucy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family graveside service will be held. Memorials to Spring Lake Recreation Commission or Hospice of North Ottawa Community are appreciated.
