James Guy Armstrong's Obituary
James Guy Armstrong, age 70, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. He was born January 1, 1948 in Tupelo, MS to Jimmie and Luella (Addison) Armstrong. James was a graduate of Reeths-Puffer High School and while going to school was the custodian. He then graduated from Michigan State University and upon completion of his bachelor’s, worked as a chemical operator for Storey and Ott Chemical Companies. James owned and operated Armstrong Enterprises Group, LLC and retired from MATS as a transit operator. James was a member of Tabernacle Church of God. SURVIVORS include a very special niece: Ruby Clark; nieces: Sherry Parker, Latonya Gregory, Janna Wright, Latricia Wilson, Latisha Gregory, Felicia Baldwin, Lawanda Gregory, Stephanie Gregory; nephews: Clarence Junior Gregory, Clarence Gregory, Jr., Van Gregory, Owen Gregory; special great-niece: Shateta Clark-Young; great-nieces: Tomika Headen, Tinette Headen, Marquitta Agnew; and great-nephews: Charles Clark, Omar Clark, Caleb Clark, Karim Clark, Thomas Headen, Depries Billings, Derell Billings, and Demarcus Headen. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Hattie Gregory; and brother, Clarence (Shirley) Gregory, Sr. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Tabernacle Church of God (614 E. River Rd.) with Pastor Ann Oakes officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials to the Rescue Mission or Tabernacle Church of God will be appreciated.
