James A. Banks' Obituary
James Allen Banks, age 66, passed away in Montague, MI, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI, on December 9, 1959, to Paul and Joyce (Vanocker) Banks. Jim enjoyed playing pool, fishing, and watching TV, especially the History Channel, National Geographic, and the Detroit Lions. He liked buying scratch off tickets and the occasional trip to the casino. He also loved going to yard sales and collecting antiques and stamps. Jim’s family meant the world to him, and he cherished all the time that he got to spend with them.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by four siblings: Paul Banks, Daniel (Diane) Banks, Sheri Glombowski, and Lore Banks; close friend, Jason; beloved cat, Milo; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Whitehall Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 816 S Mears Ave, Whitehall, MI, 49461.
