James R. Benson 's Obituary
James R. Benson, 50 of Twin Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 12, 2020. He was born on May 4, 1969 to Jim and Jana (Ellison) Benson in Muskegon. James was a proud graduate of Oakridge High School. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and coaching his boys in football and baseball. James had a passion for local sports and would referee football and umpire baseball games in the area. He had a soft spot for all his beloved dogs. He is survived by his parents; wife, Kathy Benson; sons, Ghaige (E'lyse) Benson, Brody Benson, Hunter (Savanna) Benson; stepchildren, Andrew Hammersly, Kelsey (Nick) Hammersly, Thomas Hammersley; grandsons, Briar, Waylon, and Boone Benson; brother, Brian (Melissa) Benson; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Due to health concerns, the time of remembrance for James will no longer be held at the funeral home. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 2:30PM at Egelston Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to a memorial fund in James' name at Choice 1 Bank.
