James Lee Bolthouse's Obituary
James Lee Bolthouse, age 69, of Belize, formerly of Grand Haven passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 in Belize. He was born April 17, 1943 to John and Thelma (VanderArk) Bolthouse in Spring Lake. James was married to the former Kathleen Boot on September 15, 1962, until 2004. He married the former Suzanne Field on June 1, 2008.
James graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1961. He then attended Michigan State University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree. James was self-employed for most of his life in real estate, land development, and emissions regulation. James served as the Secretary of the Corozal Rotary Club.
James is survived by his wife, Suzanne; 2 daughters, Abigail (Brad) Engstrand of Oconomowoc, WI and Anne (Steve) Scholler of Ada; 3 sons: Marty (Maryanne) Bolthouse of Grand Haven, Mike (Rhonda) Bolthouse of Hilton Head Island, SC, Matthew Bolthouse of Bangkok, Thailand; 3 step-children: Jaclyn (Ross) Paddak, Melanie Thompson, Matthew Thompson; 10 grandchildren: Jacob Belonga, Signe, Are, and Leif Engstrand, Seth and Chandler Bolthouse, Jimmy, Ben, and Izzie Scholler, and Isaiah Bolthouse; great-granddaughter, Trinity; 2 brothers, John (Karen) Bolthouse of Grandville and Jerry (Kathy) Bolthouse of Spring Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 1 PM at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with visitation following the service until 3 PM.
