Mr. James N. Brockwell's Obituary
Mr. James N. Brockwell, 92, passed away Sunday evening, June 11, 2017 at his home. He was born January 9, 1925 to James J. and Lizzie A. (French) Brockwell in Mansfield, TN, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1951. Mr. Brockwell worked at Shaw Walker for over 37 years before retiring in 1988. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and was a member of the Oak Crest Church of God. On September 30, 1951, he married Lena Mae Henson in Corinth, MS, and she survives him along with 2 grandchildren, Richard (Brenda) Durga III and Jeremy Durga; 4 great-grandchildren, Zayda, Zivah, Zolah and Zayne. He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Richard Durga, Jr.; 1 brother, Robert, and 1 sister, Dorothy. The funeral service for Mr. Brockwell will be Friday, June 16, at 10:00 AM at Oak Crest Church of God, 1540 Leonard St. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 will be Thursday, June 15, from 5-7 PM. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
