James E. Chick's Obituary
On Sunday, October 6, 2019, James (Jim) Chick, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 57. Jim was born in Muskegon, MI on June 24, 1962 to parents, Charles and Edna (Furst) Chick. On May 21, 1983 Jim married the love of his life, Michelle Judd. Together they had 5 boys. Jim was very active in the community. He was Cub Master for Pack 4252, President of the Mona Shores Youth and High School Football Clubs, President of the Roosevelt Park Youth Baseball Club, a Trustee and Junior Advisor for the Vikings, an umpire for Youth Baseball, a football referee at youth, middle, and high school levels, a football and baseball coach and treasurer of the Miss Shoreline Scholarship Pageant. Jim also ran a DJ and photo booth business with Michelle. Jim loved his animals. He had 5 dogs and two cats at the time of his death. He enjoyed playing golf, celebrating Halloween, driving his 1978 Corvette, and spending time with friends and family. Jim is survived by his wife Michelle; his five boys, Bill (Chelsey), Greg (Ashley), Jimmy (Emilee), Thomas, and Timmy (Kennedi Ogle); grandchildren, Jaxson, Hunter, Charlotte, Harper, Hudson, Amelia, and Haylee; his parents, Charles and Edna; sister, Ann (Jeff) Wisniewski, brother, Paul, and sister Kathy (Joe) Locke; his Godmother and aunt, Nancy Abraham (Chick); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 11 at 11AM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, October 10 from 5-8PM.
