James Frank Daron's Obituary
Mr. James Frank Daron, age 93, formerly of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020. He was born in Manistee, Michigan on July 16, 1926 and was the only child born to Frank and Esther (Hintz) Daron. James was a veteran of the United States Army and served in WWII. He was stationed in Japan from December 1944 to December 1946, and was a staff sergeant when the surrender was signed. James was employed by the Muskegon Post Office for 44 years and retired as the Chief Accountant. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Muskegon for over 40 years where he served as an officer for 15 years as well as serving on numerous committees. He most recently attended Christ our King Church in Saline, Michigan. James was a member of the Muskegon Old Newsies Goodfellows and enjoyed volunteering at Trinity Lutheran Church. He was very handy and took pride in caring for his home, yard, and gardens. James also enjoyed collecting stamps, and after spending 44 years working at the Post Office, he was able to acquire an extensive collection. On July 10, 1954, James married the former Carol I. Nauss and she preceded him in death on October 24, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Susan L. Daron; sister-in-law, Ruth Laubenstein; niece and nephews, Linda (Francis) Mundt, Carol (Ken) Larsen, John Laubenstein, and Richard (Maria) Laubenstein. In addition to his wife, James was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Herbert Laubenstein. According to James’ wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak concerning social distancing, Mr. Daron's MEMORIALS SERVICE has been cancelled. Burial of cremated remains with full military rites will be in Lakeside Cemetery at a later date. MEMORIALS in memory of James may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Muskegon, Michigan.
