James A. Dayton's Obituary
Mr. James A. “Bimbo” Dayton, age 64, passed away Saturday, January 13, in Muskegon. He was born on August 2, 1953 to James E. and Delia A. (Cogswell) Dayton and was a lifelong resident of the Muskegon area. James had proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed mechanics, the outdoors, reading, his Native American heritage, going to Pow Wow’s and time with his family. SURVIVORS include his longtime partner and significant other, Donna Sovereign; daughters, Stephanie Dayton, Danielle Dayton, Jamie Yenchar, Marcelyn Hulvey and Wendy Pike; 7 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Shelly Kequam, June Bryant, Arlene Birdsall and Susan Dayton; 4 brothers, Ron Wittenberg, Gary Dayton, Patrick Dayton and Jimmy Dayton. He was preceded in death by his infant son, James Allen Dayton II. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 3PM on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. (231)726-5210.
