James Edward Dempsey's Obituary
James Edward Dempsey, born July 10th, 1944 passed away suddenly April 3, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. He will forever be remembered by those he loved. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Grantz Dempsey and Arnold Joseph Dempsey.
He enjoyed golf, and thoroughly loved watching college and professional sports. His memory of athletes' names, plays, and scores was phenomenal. Throughout the years he traveled extensively and was always looking forward to the next experience.
Jim was a graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central and then was employed by the Norge Refrigeration Company until it moved to Texas. He and a friend then partnered in a painting company, and later he enjoyed working in the pro shop on a golf course. The warmth and beauty of San Antonio,Texas was a love he couldn't leave.
Jim was very fond of animals and loved playing with dogs.
He will be missed by his two sisters, Kathleen Kleaveland of N. Muskegon, Gerry Harvey of Grand Rapids, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a dear friend, Rachel.
There will be a graveside ceremony in the near future in St. Mary's Cemetery in Muskegon.
