Mr. James Robert Detamore's Obituary
Mr. James Robert Detamore, age 60, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, July 19, 2013. He was born in Muskegon on August 8, 1952 to Robert F. and Shirley M. (Burmeister) Detamore and was a life resident of the area. Jim had worked for Security Steelcraft for 40 years before his retirement. He enjoyed riding his bike to the beach, doing crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. Jim was a history buff, especially military history, and his family always joked he should be on Jeopardy because he knew all the answers. He was also an avid Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan. He is survived by his 3 children, Jill (Chris) Shaheen of Canton, MI, Jamey (Shawn) Detamore of Kalamazoo, MI and Jeff Detamore of San Francisco, CA; 2 grandchildren, Lukas and Lucie Shaheen; his father, Robert F. Detamore; 1 brother, Don Detamore; 1 sister, Sandy (Ron) Langlois; his special friend, Cheryl Huttenga and his former wife, Margaret Tietze. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Detamore and his sister-in-law, Ann Detamore. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to Hackley VNS Hospice would be appreciated.
