Oh, my goodness, Jim. I was so sad when I heard of your passing. To Lillian and all of your family, I send my best for all of your kindnesses. You were such a lasting part of my kindergarten life. All the help, from crowd control to getting my mail, was truly appreciated. You were generous with your “catered” lunches, your cards of support, the beautiful roses and your smiles. At a time in our country when so many people waste their time arguing and blaming others, Mr Dietz stands out as one of those individuals who focused on making a difference. He could have chosen to rest and relax these last few years but instead he chose to continue to have an impact on people especially those at OVEE. What a wonderful legacy he has left for our students and staff. Even in sickness he would come to our school looking to help out in any way he could. He certainly brightened my day and I know he did for so many others. He will be missed but never forgotten. We need more Dietz's in this world more than ever! Well done though good and faithful servant! It was an absolute gift for me to have known you.

Mr. Dietz has been my neighbor for 45 years. He was always up for some great conversation. My boys were very blessed to have had the priveledge of having you as a friend and roll model. I was always worried that they were bothering you, but that was never the case. The chats with my boys would last hours. They truly looked up to you and loved you. You were such an amazing person and definitely will be missed by entire family. Thank you for all you've done for our community.

Mr Dietz is my hero. When I was pregnant I had to love to another building. I packed up my personal teaching supplies to take home. Everyone reprimanded me for carrying the boxes in my condition. Mr. Dietz, in his seventies at that time, took the boxes from me and carried them to my car. I will never forget that or his many expressions of kindness to the staff and students of our school.

I grew up knowing Jim as my dad called him. My dad Lewis Morehouse worked with him at the Piston Ring and bowled with him. Sorry for the loss to your family and friends.
