James R. Doctor's Obituary
Mr. James R. “Jim” or “Doc” Doctor, age 67, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 in Grand Rapids. Jim was born on December 29, 1947 in Muskegon to Derk and Ila (Baker) Doctor and resided in the area all of his life. Jim was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country in Vietnam. He worked at Meijer’s for 44 years before retiring in 2009. Jim was a member of Olivet Evangelical Free Church, and also belonged to the VFW Post 8846 and the Polish Falcon. SURVIVORS include his daughter, Dawn Bates of Idaho; sister-in-law, Donna Doctor; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Terri Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Donald and William Doctor. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11AM Saturday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 with Pastor Craig Cramblet officiating. VISTATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11 AM. Burial will take place at Laketon Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Olivet Evangelical Free Church Missions Program, Muskegon County Department Veteran Affairs or the VFW Post 8846 Relief Fund will be appreciated.
