James "Jim" Doornbos' Obituary
Mr. James “Jim” Doornbos, age 70, of Muskegon, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026. He was born September 30, 1955, in Muskegon to Otto and Selma (Weesies) Doornbos. Jim was a graduate of Western Michigan Christian High School and a member of Allen Ave. Christian Reformed Church.
Jim enjoyed watching sports, especially our local hockey teams over the years and in his younger years, he enjoyed playing catcher on the church men’s softball team. He also enjoyed going for walks and watching TV.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ed Hager of Indianapolis; nieces and nephew, Annemarie Varga, Rebecca Snider, Robert Hager and Allison Will along with all of their families.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2026, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442 with Rev. Mark Hofman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Jim maybe given to Western Michigan Christian High School.
