Mr. James Charles Fraser Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. James Charles Fraser, Jr. “Jim” age 84 passed away on April 14, 2013 in Muskegon. He was born on August 16, 1928 to James and Marie (Nevins) Fraser, Sr. and was a proud and lifelong resident. Jim attended St. Joseph Catholic High School in Muskegon, and was a graduate of the class of 1946. He is the oldest living member of the St. Joseph’s Credit Union. Jim worked at Smith Packing in Muskegon for 13 years and then went to TNT Holland Motor. He retired after 27 years of loyal and devoted service in 1990. Jim married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Somers, on December 28, 1946 and he was so proud of his 66 years with his bride! To this union they were blessed with seven children. He is SURVIVED by his children, Mrs. Veronica (Bob) Fairris, Mrs. Kathleen (Dan) Price, Mrs. Carol (Jerry) Meisch, Mr. Gregory (Colleen) Fraser, Mrs. Marybeth “Beth” (Steve) Arnold and Mrs. Julie (Doug) Moyer; siblings, Ruth Mary Vanderwest, Michael (Marge) Fraser, Terrence (Merilee) Fraser and Tony (Star) Fraser; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren. Jim was PRECEDED in death by his son, Nicholas James Fraser; parents; and sister, Elizabeth Pacyga. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muskegon Heights and was very active there as an usher. Jim enjoyed hunting, antiques and finding treasures, his annual venison fry with his brothers, but most of all being with his family. The FUNERAL MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11AM Friday, April 19, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 East Summit Ave., Muskegon Heights, 49444 with Rev. Fr. Antony Britto presiding. The VISITATION will be 6 – 8 PM Thursday, April 18, 2013 with the ROSARY being prayed at 5:30 PM at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. There will also be visitation 1 hour prior to the funeral at church. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
