James Harris' Obituary
James Harris, age 76, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Sanctuary at McAuley. He was born September 19, 1946 in Bradley, AR to JT and Geraldine (Brown) Harris. Jim graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in the Class of 1965. Jim worked as a bus driver for Muskegon Heights Public Schools for 7 years and later worked 11 years for Pioneer Resources before retiring. On July 21, 1973, he married Sally Kelsey in Muskegon. He attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Morning Star Baptist Church. Jim enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and many cousins. He also enjoyed cooking at the family gatherings. Survivors include his loving wife, Sally Harris; 7 children, James Wesley Harris, Thelma Jo Harris, Darnice Harris, Kimberly Harris, LaToya Harris, Jermaine Harris, Tyron Billups; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Jesse Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents, JT and Geraldine Harris. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Spring Street Missionary Baptist Church (912 Spring Street). Visitation and Family Hour will be held 10:00AM – 11:00AM on Thursday at the church.
