James Ray Hensley Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. James Ray Hensley, Sr., age 74, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at his home in Muskegon. He was born on August 2, 1944 in LaFollette, TN to James and Rose (Campbell) Hensley. James was a three-year veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed by the United States Army for 27 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. On September 8, 1973, James married the former Charlotte Yandura in Detroit, Michigan and she survives him along with three children, Jimmy (Kimmy), Debbie, and Jeff (Lisa); 14 grandchildren, Lucy, Henry, Nick, Nicole, Alex, Jenna, Whitney, Spencer, Timothy, Mary Charlotte, Autumn, Amber, Alec, and April; brother, Carl (Charlene) Hensley; sisters, Mabel Moyers and Alice (Jose) Robles. He was preceded in death by son, Mark; his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. A CELEBRATION OF JAMES’ LIFE will be held from 12:00 -1:30 PM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. MILITARY HONORS will be performed at 1:30 PM and a luncheon will follow immediately. MEMORIALS in memory of James may be directed to Harbor Hospice Foundation.
