James W. Humphreys' Obituary
Mr. James Wilbur Humphreys, age 91, passed away peacefully August 9, 2019. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on September 11, 1927 to John Wesley and Ann (Pruim) Humphreys. He graduated from Muskegon High School in 1945 and worked for Johnson Products in Muskegon as the Vice-President of Manufacturing and later worked as a Manufactures Representative for A.D. Schneider in Lansing, Michigan. James married Louise A. Wichter in 1954. He was a member of Central Assembly of God in Muskegon and enjoyed participating in many mission trips and serving other church ministries. James enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting and especially enjoyed time with his family. He is survived by his three sons, James (Luanne) Humphreys of Grand Haven, John (Donna) Humphreys of Twin Lake, and Mark (Colleen) Humphreys of Coopersville; four granddaughters, Jenny (Kyle) DeGraves, Linsey (Steve) Penland, Kayla Humphreys and Jessica Humphreys; three great-grandsons; and two sisters, Shirley Croel of Muskegon and Joan Bergbower of Fruitport. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Louise; his parents; and brother and sister-in-law, John and Ruth Humphreys. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 15, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Pastor Verne Wright officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service (10-11AM). Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS in memory of James may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
