James Otto Hunt's Obituary
James Otto Hunt, age 75, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 at his home in Muskegon. Jim was a very courageous 23-year cancer survivor. He was born February 11, 1948 in Muskegon to Frederick and Eleanor (Kloss) Hunt, Jr and lived in the area his entire life. Jim received his bachelor's of computer science degree from Michigan State University. He worked as an accountant for Teledyne-Continental Motors for 17 years prior to his retirement. He also helped his dad’s vending business for many years. On November 22, 1996, he married Jeanne M. Kittel in Muskegon. Jim was an avid pool player and loved to golf. He had a sweet tooth for pie and anything chocolate. Jim was the biggest animal lover of all kinds – even known to release a mouse back to the outside or feeding the wild racoons. Jim loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and took a few trips to Sturgis, SD. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne M. Hunt; 7 children, Erin (Brooks Sherman) Larson, Donovan (Kristi) Johnson, Stacie (Geoff) Zietlow, Regan Hamel, Michael (Pamela) Hunt, James (Christina) Johnson, Lisa Haan; 1 daughter-in-law, Pamela Hunt; 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and best friends, Bruce and Frankie Johnson. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Hunt; his parents; and 1 brother, Frederick Hunt III. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00-4:00 PM Sunday, February 11, 2024 at the VFW Post 3195, 5209 Grand Haven Rd, Norton Shores, MI 49441.
