James Allen Jackson's Obituary
James Allen Jackson, age 78, passed away in Spring Lake, MI, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. James was born on January 12, 1945, in Grand Rapids, MI, to Joseph and Martha (Hansen) Jackson. He graduated from Union High School in Grand Rapids, and then worked as a butcher for over 50 years. On August 25, 1967, he married the former Susan VanderLind, and they spent 50 wonderful years together until she preceded him in death in 2018. James enjoyed watching Detroit Tigers baseball, golfing, going out to eat, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a man of simple tastes, he just loved being with family. James will be lovingly remembered by his three sons: James Jackson Jr, Joseph Jackson, and Jeffrey Jackson; six grandchildren: Keeghan, Azealya, Ashleigh, Katherine, Bonnie, and Franklin; and two siblings: William Jackson and Marlene (Dan) Terpstra. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Martha Jackson, and his wife, Susan Jackson. Per James’ wishes no public services are being held at this time.
