In Memory of James Edward Jackson April 26, 1952, to September 9, 2024
Mr. James Jackson, age 72, passed away on September 9, 2024. He was the 4th of 10 siblings born to Theodis Sr. and Edithal Jackson. He was born and raised in Muskegon Heights, MI and accepted Christ at a young age. He attended and graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1968. He attended Ferris State University and received his Associate degree in Applied Science on May 24, 1975. He had been employed at ODL Corporation & Brunswick Corporation for many years until he retired due to his illness. James was a very hardworking man. He enjoyed fishing, chess, sports, watching TV, barbequing, and fixing and creating things. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family! He was a family-oriented man of God. He always went above & beyond the call of duty for his family!!!
James was a devoted husband to his wife, Minnie, for 46 years. He was also an awesome Bonus Dad to his daughter Tamara Knox & great granddaughter Te’Ajia Jackson who he raised. He also raised is niece Nekiya Brown of Muskegon, MI. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife & caregiver Minnie Jackson; 2 daughters, Tamara Knox & Te’Ajia Jackson of Muskegon, MI; 3 grandchildren, Tevyona Knox and Talay’ha Knox both of Muskegon and Devins (Rodrica) Knox II of Mesa, AZ; 4 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Robert (Debra) Jackson of Lansing, MI, Kenneth (Kathy) Jackson, and Steven (Michelle) Jackson both of Grand Rapids, MI; 3 sisters, Patricia Felder of Detroit, MI, Rhonda Landfair of Lansing, MI, and Deborah Jackson of Indianapolis, IN; 1 brother-n-law, Tommie Calvin Sr. of Muskegon,MI, and a host of in-laws. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sister Sandra Calvin, 2 brothers, Theodis Jackson Jr. and Phillip Jackson, brother-in-law Gary Felder, and son-in-law Devins Knox Sr.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 16, 2024 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442, with Pastor Manasseh Bankhead officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Mona View Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family.
