James "Jim" W. Surge's Obituary
Mr. James W. “Jim” Surge, age 81, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, at the Harbor Hospice Poppen House. He was born on January 15, 1938, in Indianapolis, IN to William and Beatrice (Bostwick) Surge. Jim was a Veteran of the US Navy. He loved to sail, and made multiple sailing trips including the “Caribbean 1500”. Jim owned and operated JW Surge Inc, providing specialty sand and soil products for many years. On October 6, 1962, he married the former Ann Leptic and she survives him along with two children, Monica (Dan) Zuniga and Eric (Lori) Surge; four grandchildren, Meghan (Chris) Farr, Dylan (Brianna Hibbert) Zuniga, Erin (Josh Mowbray) Surge, and James Surge; three great grandchildren, Natalie Farr, Lillian Farr, and Sylas Zuniga; one brother, William Surge; and two sisters, Mitzi (Richard) Loutensock, and Bebe Phillips. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Walter Surge. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be 5 – 7PM, Monday, February 11, 2019, at The Lee Chapel Family Center, 6291 S.
