James E. Keat's Obituary
Mr. James E. Keat, age 92, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at his home. He was born on May 17, 1919 to James and Anna (Rowe) Keat in East Jordan, Michigan. He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. James worked at S.D. Warren in quality control prior to his retirement in 1982. He served his country in the U.S. Army and belonged to the American Legion and the Custer V.F.W. Gold Bar Post. James was an avid sports watcher, hunter, and fisherman. On June 30, 1957 he married Peppy Tailor and she survives him along with his daughter, Mary Anne (Donald) Volkmann; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Fisher, Leah Romer, and Jillian Bernal; 6 great-grandchildren, Zachary Romer, Kyle Romer, Quinn Bernal, Jake Fisher, Lillian Fisher and Lane Fisher. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Knop and Mildred Buschert, and his parents. FUNERAL SERVICE and Military Rites will be held 11AM Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (185 E. Pontaluna Rd.) with Fr. Catalin Mot presiding. VISITATION will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 and a Trisagion Service will be held at 7PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
