James M. Kidd's Obituary
Mr. James M. Kidd, age 78, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in Muskegon. He was born on February 19, 1935 in Kansas City, MO to James and Mary (Mayfield) Kidd, and resided most of his life in the Muskegon area while being raised by his grandparents, Charles and Beatrice West. James worked in the flooring industry for many years, retiring in 2006 from Karastan Flooring. He enjoyed golfing and deer hunting, taking his dogs, Riley and Martin for rides in his little gray truck, but loved his family including his grandchildren and great grandchildren the most. On September 14, 1984, he married the former Judy Cox, and she survives him along with his sons, James (Linda) Kidd of N. Muskegon, Chris (Hermie) Kidd of Florida and Kurt (Lynn) Kidd of Virginia; 2 step-daughters, Stephanie Gaunt and Jennifer Hare; son-in-law, Chris Hare; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Jan Pothoff. The MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11AM Tuesday, January 28 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church – Marian Chapel with Rev. Fr. Philip Salmonowicz presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 5-7PM Monday, January 27 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 and 1 hour prior to the service at church.
