Mr. James R. LaNore's Obituary
Mr. James R. LaNore, 77, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 16, 2018. He was born March 6, 1940 to Orval P. and Edna R. (Grant) LaNore in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. He had worked at Enterprise Brass Works for 37 years before retiring in 2000. James was an avid hunter and fisherman. On December 29, 1962 he married Viola Mae Sherwood, and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2017. Survivors include 2 children, Michael J. (Linda) LaNore, Leann Mae (Otto) Stapel; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kay) LaNore, Gergory Dixon II, Phillip (Crystal) Dixon, David Brow, Phillip Freeman II, Casey Dudley, Matthew Grassette, Crystal Bennett, Jessica Stapel, Renee Stapel, David Stapel, Robin Stapel and Michael Rossitter; great-grandchildren, Jeremy G., Ariana, Mikaela, Amelia, Savannah, Rebecca, Emma, CoryAnn and Corbin; 1 brother, Jay “Mike” LaNore; 2 sisters, Judy Johnson, Joline (John) Burmeister; many nieces and nephews; close family friends, Daniel Gentz and Steve Murphy. James was also preceded in death by his father and mother; 2 nephews, Phillip James Freeman and Douglas Kelly Sherwood. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 22, 2018, at 1:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Chaplain Curtis Freed officiating.
