James L. Lindsey's Obituary
Mr. James L. Lindsey, age 72, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born in Grand Rapids on July 16, 1941. Jim was a Veteran, having served his country in the US Navy. He worked at Consumers Power for 40 years, served as Union President of Local 103 before retiring in 2005. He served on the Planning Commission for the City of Norton Shores and volunteered at several local agencies. Jim loved music, history and especially spending time with his family. On May 8, 1965, Jim married the former Sandra Elwell, and she survives him along with 3 daughters, Traci (Floyd) Tetzlaff, Jodi (William) Pallas and Kelli (Henry) Carpenter all of Norton Shores; 5 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; a special aunt, Betty Huss; and many loving cousins and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A private service is being planned by the family. Memorial Contributions in Jim’s name to the Diabetes Association will be appreciated.
