Mr. James Eugene Lomeo's Obituary
Mr. James Eugene Lomeo, age 85, passed away Thursday morning, May 15, 2014 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. Mr. Lomeo was born March 20, 1929 to Paul and Rosalia (Cali) Lomeo in McKeesport, PA. On July 27, 1955 he married the former Tina E. Orlando. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He graduated with Honors from Bucknell University; and later from the University of Pennsylvania, obtaining his law degree, and practiced law for 40 years in his own law firm; retiring at age 72. He was very active in Pittsburgh politics, a land developer, and was a prominent property attorney in the Pittsburgh area for many years. Jim also started the Alleghany Mortgage Company. He was a member of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in White Oak, PA. Jim was well read and very academic. He and Tina were wonderful parents and grandparents. His SURVIVORS include Tina, his wife of 58 years; his children, Dr. Paul Lomeo of Spring Lake, Joseph (Patti) Lomeo of Pittsburgh, PA, and Dr. Rosalia Lomeo (Dr. Edward Katz) of Fredericksburg, VA; 5 grandchildren, J.T. Lomeo, Karen Lomeo, Michael, David and Daniel Katz. Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Joseph Lomeo. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Lee Chapel with Rev. Fr. Matthew Barnum as Presider. Interment in Spring Lake Cemetery.
