James D. McCarty's Obituary
Mr. James D. McCarty, 36, passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2022, in Muskegon. He was born December 31, 1985, to Kenneth P. and Betty L. (Stowe) McCarty in Muskegon, and lived in Zeeland before returning to the Muskegon area in 2004. Jim enjoyed working in IT and was self employed in this area. He greatly enjoyed billiards, disc golf, discussing philosophy, watching movies and gaming. Survivors include his mom and step-dad, Betty (Gary) Rasmussen; his dad, Kenneth McCarty; brother, Ken (Marie Munk) McCarty; step-siblings, Melissa Malmgren, Amanda Rasmussen, Anthony (Bri) McCarty; step-grandmother, Bonnie Rasmussen; Neice Hayley Rasmussen, nephew Ryden Malmgren, niece Avery McCarty. Jim loved his animals and is also survived by his beloved dog Elgi. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ruth Stowe and Franklin J.D. Stowe, step-grandfather Thomas Rasmussen, and uncle James H. Stowe. In accordance with Jim’s wishes, there will be no services. He has also requested in place of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society in Ruth Stowe’s name. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
