Mr. James McCormick's Obituary
Mr. James McCormick, 85, passed away Monday evening, April 23, 2018. He was born August 26, 1932 to Harold and Paulina (Read) McCormick in Hart, MI, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1939. He was a member of Crestwood United Methodist Church, was retired from Howmet, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Jim volunteered for MAP and was a past member of the Muskegon Jaycees. He enjoyed traveling with the Orchard View Travelers, watching old classic movies, traveling to Europe, and being with his family and grandchildren. On September 1, 1962 he married Marilyn J. Zerlaut, and she preceded him in death on October 11, 2005. Jim is survived by 3 children: Lisa (Keith) McFall, Scott (Jenny) McCormick, Kimberly (David) Thomas; daughter-in-law: Trudie McCormick; 7 grandchildren: Kristine, Zachary, Lauren, Alex, Evan, Sophia and Collin;1 brother: David (Sharon) McCormick; in-laws: Robert (Jennifer) Zerlaut and Susan King; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his son Craig. The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 1, at 11:00 AM at the Crestwood United Methodist Church. Visitation at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 will be Monday, April 30, from 6-8 PM. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery.
