Mr. James Richard Mylenek's Obituary
Mr. James Mylenek, Sr., age 75, passed away Tuesday morning, December 6, 2016 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. James was born May 3, 1941 in Muskegon to Carl Norman and Gertrude (Neauman) Mylenek. On October 15, 1960, he married the former Faye Sinoma Hall and she survives him. Jim was a journeyman electrician and millwright, working at S. D. Warren for 33 years prior to his retirement in 2002. Jim also owned and operated the Nature’s Den Taxidermy Service until his health deteriorated. Jim enjoyed working, and also enjoyed gardening, hunting, the outdoors, and his dog, Gidjett. James had been a boxer in his younger days as part of the Catholic Youth Organization. Jim and Faye were long time members of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Jim loved his wife, his family, and life. He will be deeply missed by Faye, his wife of 57 years; his children, James (Brenda) Mylenek, Jr. of Norton Shores, Patricia Mylenek of Muskegon, Kristine (Craig) Mylenek of N. Muskegon and Joseph Norman Mylenek of N. Muskegon; 8 grandchildren, Lindsay (Ben) Ream, Ryan (Allison) Mylenek, Brittany Storck, Brianna Storck, Skyler Bogner, Joslynne Bogner, Maverick Mylenek, and Mackenna Mylenek; one great- grandchild, Barret Ream, and one on the way; a sister, Virginia Sibley; special brother and sister-in-law, Don (Shawn) Erwin; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Ray Meloche, Kim Priem, Fred Meyers and many others. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, John and Carl Mylenek Jr; 2 sisters, Carol Jean and Helen Marie Mylenek. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2016, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1100 Dykstra Rd., with Rev. Fr. Peter Vu as celebrant. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the Mass (10-11 AM). Entombment in St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice Foundation, Mercy VNS, or Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
