James Ira Nordhoff, D.D.S.'s Obituary
James Ira Nordhoff, D.D.S. passed away on January 7, 2020. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on August 17, 1930 to Ira Nordhoff D.D.S. and Connie (Top) Nordhoff. He grew up loving spending summers at Lake Michigan and climbing Pigeon Hill. Jim spent many happy summers at Camp Pendalouan where he was an honor camper and later, head counselor. Jim graduated from Muskegon High School, Hope College, and The University of Michigan Dental School. He joined his father’s dental practice and retired 25 years later.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eileen Camp Nordhoff, whom he married on July 12, 1980. Surviving are his son, Todd (Beth) Nordhoff; daughter, Terri (Patrick) Young, and grandchildren Conner and Haley Young.
Jim had been a member of Muskegon County Nature Club; the Muskegon County, Michigan state, and American Dental Associations; the Y’s Men Club; and was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Jim loved birding, travel, history, camping, being outdoors, and fishing with his son.

Visitation will be held at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444, (231) 798-1100 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2020, with a Blessing and Prayer at 1:30PM.
