While I never had the pleasure of meeting the rest of his beloved family, I had the pleasure of knowing Jim, all those many years ago, while he proudly wore the uniform of the Muskegon City Police Department and I was just a local newsboy for WKBZ and the Muskegon Chronicle. He had that infectious grin about him, and yet, when necessary, be as formal and tight lipped as necessary regarding each of our duties. We shared many good memories together with the good natured kidding of he being a "Surface Skimmer..." and me being a "Bubble Head" submarine sailor. ( USS Sea Cat SS-399) May he rest in peace and those remaining know he was a great officer, a good friend, and a credit to Life.
