James P Rushcamp, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. James P. Rushcamp, Sr., age 87, died peacefully Wednesday morning, October 14, 2015. He was born March 28, 1928 in Muskegon to Francis and Lucy (Compeau) Rushcamp; and had been a life resident. Mr. Rushcamp was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He retired from S.D. Warren and had previously worked at the C & O Railroad and the U.S. Post Office as a Parcel Deliveryman. Jim loved life and enjoyed his family, gardening, swimming in Lake Michigan, the outdoors in general, his dog, Milo, and Tiger and Cub’s baseball. On June 9, 1994 he married the former Phyllis Carroll Maycroft, and she survives him along with 7 children, Martha Ruschkamp, James P. (Susan) Rushcamp, Jr., Yvonne (Mark) Spytma, Susan (John) Sisto, Jacquline Rushcamp, Lizabeth (Tom) Kine and Matthew (Sharon) Rushcamp; 2 step-children, Thomas (Debbie) Maycroft and Tammy (Anthony, Sr.) Rao; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; father-in-law, Charles Carroll, Sr.; life-long friend, Louie Tardani and his wife Louise and special friends, Ed and Joanne Simon. He was preceded in death by his siblings, John, Ann Brown, Frank and Fred Rushcamp. Jim’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. James Tweston O’Toole, and his Mercy VNS and Hospice caregivers. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 Saturday, October 17, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 239 W. Clay Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49440. VISITATION with Jim’s family will be one-hour prior to the Mass. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
