Mr. James G. Sandin's Obituary
Mr. James G. Sandin, age 85, passed away Monday evening, May 23, 2022, in Muskegon. Jim was born October 18, 1936, in Muskegon to Carl G. and Elsa A. (Lofquist) Sandin and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of Fifth Reformed Church and had been a member of the former First Christian Reformed Church where he was very involved with the Cadet program and had served as an Elder. Jim had worked at Sealed Power for almost 50 years before retiring. On May 29, 1957, he married Nadeen R. Palsrok and she preceded him in death on February 5, 2015. Survivors include three children: Kevin (Kim) Sandin, Scott (Diane) Sandin, Shari Sandin; eight grandchildren: Austin (Kaitlin) Sandin, Amber (Jansen) Gontjes, Ashley (fiancé Zac Netzel) Sandin, Timothy (Lindsey) Sandin, Michael Sandin, Dr. Adam (Lauren) Sandin. Megan Sandin, Amanda (Brandon) Lindsay; three great-grandchildren: James Lindsay, Kennedy Lindsay, and Kennedy Sandin. Jim was also preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean Forberg and brother Donald Sandin. The funeral service will be Friday, June 3, at 11:00 AM at Fifth Reformed Church, 2330 Holton Rd., Muskegon, 49445. Visitation at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 will be Thursday, June 2, from 5-7 PM, and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Mr. Sandin may be made to Muskegon Christian School, Western Michigan Christian High School/Middle School, or Fifth Reformed Church Cadet Club.
