James Richard Sebring's Obituary
James Richard Sebring, age 70, passed away while surrounded by family at his home in North Muskegon, MI, on Friday, March 31, 2023. Jim was born on August 28, 1952, to his parents Wayne and Bernice (Gurecki) Sebring in Muskegon, MI. A graduate of Orchard View High School, he spent his whole life living in the Muskegon area. He served for some years in the United States Air Force, Army Reserves, and Navy. In 1976 he married Carmen Guerrero, and they spent 47 wonderful years together before his passing. Jim worked for many years in maintenance at Fleet Engineers, and then for many more at Paramelt. Jim was an unwavering lifelong fan of Detroit Lions football. In his younger years he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting, but he always enjoyed having family and friends over for cookouts and bonfires at his home. He loved all of his family, but his grandson Warren was the light of his life. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carmen Sebring; mother, Bernice Sebring; two daughters: Rachel (Phil) Chester and Andrea Guerrero; grandson, Warren James Chester; two siblings: David Sebring and Pat (John) Collinge; and many nieces, nephews, siblings in-law, and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Sebring. A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be taking place from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442.
