James Alan Sias' Obituary
Mr. James Alan Sias, age 74, of Spring Lake, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at Trinity Hospital. He was born July 25, 1949, in Stambaugh, MI to John and Dorothy Sias. On July 11, 1970, he married Mary Zayaz in Fruitport.
James served his county in the US Army during Vietnam and was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Eagles. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, being outside exercising, riding his bike, walking the bike paths, cutting his grass, spending time on the water in his boat, or in the woods camping. He was loved deeply and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary; two children, Jerry (Rocio) Sias, and Stacie (John) Brown; three grandchildren: Jerald Brown, Tiffany, and Savanna Sias; three great-grandchildren: Bryson, Sawyer, Henry; sister, Carol Cook; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Brown; sisters, Linda Tate and Ruth Ann Mcguire.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 11, 2024, at St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417.
