James "Jim" Eldon Taylor's Obituary
James “Jim” Eldon Taylor, age 85, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Northcrest Assisted Living Center. He was born January 19, 1935 in Remus, MI to Leon H. and Esther M. (Long) Taylor and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. Jim married Barbara A. Hein in Muskegon on July 30, 1955 and she preceded him in death on August 16, 2006. Jim was a veteran of the US Army. He worked over 30 years as a machinist for Teledyne-Continental Motors/General Dynamics Corp. and retired in 1998. Jim was a member of VFW Post #8846, the Muskegon Eagles Aeries #668, the PRCU Society #78, and the American Legion Post #69. Survivors include his son, Sam Taylor; his grandson, Jared (Katie) Taylor; 4 sisters, Marjorie Smith, Shirley (David) Plamondon, Janet Strieder, Charlene Foy; and companion, Beverly Dykema. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Taylor; his parents, Leon and Esther Taylor; 2 sisters, Doriss Shavalier, Deanna Steinberg; and 1 brother, Lanny Taylor. A private graveside service will be held. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
