Mr. James Edward Veach's Obituary
Mr. James Edward Veach, 83, passed away early Monday morning, April 20, 2015. He was born March 12, 1932 to David and Martha (Hellmers) Veach in Muskegon Heights, and lived all of his life in the Grand Haven and Muskegon areas. Mr. Veach worked as a heavy equipment operator for several construction companies in the area, before retiring from Alstrom Construction. He was a very skilled mechanic and belonged to the Operating Engineers Local #324 for over 40 years. On June 23, 1951 he married Alyce R. Wiebenga, and she survives him along with 4 children, Patricia (Daniel) England of Muskegon, Terrance (Pamela) Veach of Holton, Jamie (Richard) Ciezak of Whitehall, Ronald Veach of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Nony Veach of Grand Haven; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. A memorial service celebrating Mr. Veach’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 25, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
