James W. Wahr's Obituary
Mr. James W. Wahr, age 72, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014. He was born December 12, 1941 in Muskegon to the late Edward and Vivian (Lang) Wahr. Jim graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central in 1960 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam era. He married the former Bonnie J. Carlson in Muskegon on October 13, 1962. Jim was employed at C.W.C. Textron for 33 years until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of both Muskegon Hts. and Fruitport Eagles. He survived by his wife, Bonnie; 3 children, Michael Wahr and Michelle Drummond both of Fruitport and Matthew (Holly) Wahr of Bitely, MI; 2 brothers, Gerald (Mary) Wahr of Norton Shores and Leonard (Janet) Wahr of Muskegon; 1 sister, Patricia A. Hinton of Muskegon; and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Boutell and a brother, Ronald Wahr. A MEMORIAL MASS will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 p.m. at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Mary’s House, 1580 Seaman Rd., Wellston, MI 49689 or Heartland Hospice.
