James W. "Jim" Wilde's Obituary
James W. “Jim” Wilde, age 84, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. He was born April 21, 1937 in Muskegon to Arthur G. and Beatrice (Green) Wilde and was a lifelong resident of the area. On February 22, 1958, Jim married Florence R. Niesen in Muskegon. He worked over 50 years as a journeyman millwright and began at Volkswagen Garage, later working for Campbell, Wyant & Cannon, and retired from Howmet Corp. Jim was longtime member of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church. He was also active in West Michigan Street Rods. Cars were his passion and he especially enjoyed rebuilding engines and restoring Volkswagens and Roadsters. Jim built cars, engines, motors and anything mechanical – he could fix. He was a collector of the Hot Wheels miniature cars and enjoyed wood working. But his favorite thing was being a grandpa. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Florence R. Wilde; 2 children, Tammy (Keith) Juusola, Jamie (Lisa) Wilde; 1 daughter-in-law, Lynann Wilde; 7 grandchildren, Amie (Gilbert Sandoval) Juusola; Kyle (Renee) Juusola, Jamie (Christina) Wilde, Charity (Lexen) Sterenberg, Chelsea Wilde, Mark Wilde, Becky Wilde; 5 great-grandchildren, Riley, Oliver, Aminah, Naomi, Grover; 2 sisters, Barb VanDonkelaar and Kris (Charles) Herr; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Timothy Wilde; his parents; and 2 sisters, Judy Paulsen and Karen Broton. A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Wolf Lake United Methodist Church (378 Vista Terrace). Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, 2-3 PM Sunday at the church. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required at this gathering. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Wolf Lake United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
