James D. Tregoning's Obituary
Mr. James D. Tregoning, age 62, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, September 29, 2003, at Hackley Hospital. He was born March 30, 1941 in Muskegon to James & Vera (Bogema) Tregoning and had been a life resident of the area. Jim was a 1959 graduate of Western Michigan Christian High School and member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church. Jim loved his family and work, devoting his entire life to both. He owned and operated Porter Steel and Welding Co., where he had been employed since the age of 16. On January 5, 1963 he married the former Jo Ann Miller and she survives him along with 2 daughters, Susan (Greg) Dinger and Mari (Gary) Farr, both of North Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Alex, Brandon & Lydia Dinger and Garrison Farr; his mother, Vera Tregoning of Grand Rapids; 3 sisters, Deanna (Bob) Winter of Holland, Susan (Roger) Schuitema of Grand Rapids and Karen (Don) Trap of Owasso; his mother and father-in-law, Phyllis & Robert Priest of North Muskegon; and by many "special" friends, nieces and nephews and business acquaintances. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Bethany Christian Reformed Church (1105 Terrace Street) with the Rev. Lou Roossien officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Jim’s Family will be 6-8PM this evening (Wednesday) at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565, and 9-11AM Thursday, prior to the service, at Bethany Church.
