James Edward Jett's Obituary
Mr. James Edward Jett, age 80, passed away Friday, August 21, 2009. He was born November 14, 1928 in Muskegon to Edward and Gladys (Rawdon) Jett. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. On September 17, 1949, he married the former Ina Mae Wessels in Wolf Lake, MI. Together they owned and operated Jett’s Landing at Silver Lake. Mr. Jett also owned, Jim Jett & Associates. SURVIVORS include: his wife, Ina Mae; 5 children, Sharon Jett of Cedar springs, MI, Debbie Pipe of Saranac, MI, James E. (Susan) Jett II of Lamont, MI, Robert J. (Michelle) Jett of Sand Lake, MI and Ricky Lee Jett of Florida; 1 sister, Shirley Shlaffer of Norton Shores; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by, his parents, brother, Gerald Jett, sister, Louise Griswold and 1 great-grandson. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2009 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. Friends may meet with the family beginning 1 hour prior to the service. MILITARY RITES under the auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans.
