James G. Eastman's Obituary
Mr. James Gordon Eastman, age 96, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born August 25, 1911 in Mears, MI to George and Amy (Stever) Eastman and lived most of his life in the area. Prior to his retirement, he worked 44 years at Muskegon Piston Ring. He was an avid gardener and attended First Baptist Church. SURVIVORS include 1 son, James (Evelyn) Eastman of Montague; 1 step-daughter, Nancy (Frank) Johnson of Muskegon; 3 step-sons, Charles (Sandra) Willis, Harold (Deb) Willis, David Willis of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 1 special nephew, Robert Bartrand; and 1 special niece, Colleen Sammons. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Agnes and his second wife, Irene. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with Rev. Gerald F. Hagans officiating. VISITATION will be held one hour prior, 10-11 AM Wednesday. INTERMENT will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to First Baptist Church.
