James Gordon "Jim" Toth's Obituary
Mr. James “Jim” Gordon Toth, age 70, passed away Sunday morning, April 5, 2009 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. He was born March 10, 1939 in Big Rapids, MI to Emery and Mary (Skrivanek) Toth and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to retirement, he worked over 30 years in Marine Construction at Great Lakes Dock and Material. On May 2, 1958, he married the former Dionel M. O’Toole in Muskegon and she survives him. Jim was a member of St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church. He also belonged to the Muskegon Eagle’s Aerie #668 and the Muskegon Elk’s Lodge 274. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing. SURVIVORS include his wife, Dionel; 5 children, Jim (Sheri) Toth; Dionel (Robert) Jennings, Mary Kay (Richard) Gorajec, Eric (Jacquie) Toth, Chip (Lynn) Toth; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary Frances Toth; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews from the O’Toole family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and 1 infant brother. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. William A. Langlois as celebrant. ENTOMBMENT will follow at St. Mary Mausoleum. VISITATION with Jim’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W.
