James H. Decker's Obituary
Mr. James H. Decker, age 63, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006. Mr. Decker was born April 25, 1943 to Fred and Reba (Beeman) Decker in Muskegon. On September 8, 1962 he married the former Nancy Cummins in Twin Lake. He was a 20 year veteran of the US Army and served in Vietnam where he earned the Purple Heart medal and the Bronze Star. Jim was then employed by the US Post Office before retiring in 1998. He was a member of River of Life Church where he was very close to his pastor, Don Benedict, and his church family. Jim is SURVIVED by his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy; his children, Kimberly (Jason) Martinez of CA, James Decker II of Muskegon, Rebecca (Randy) Graham of Grand Rapids and April Decker of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren, Jason, Cody, Chrystaline, Kevin, Payton, William, Zoe and Gabriella; his mother, Reba (George “Pat”) Smith; 1 brother, Albert Leroy (Brenda) Decker; 3 sisters, Alice (Loren) Maycroft, Osta Jane (James) Lambert and Florence Leigh and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his father; infant brother, Ronnie Decker; grandson, Joseph; sister, Betty Lawrence; and brother, Fred Decker II. with Pastor Don Benedict officiating. Burial will be in Twin Lake Cemetery with FULL MILITARY RITES afforded by the Muskegon County Council. VISITATION will be 6-8 PM Wednesday.
