James "Jim" Howard's Obituary
Mr. James Howard, age 106, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2006, at a local nursing home. He was born October 15, 1900 in Spring Lick Kentucky. On November 24,1931 James married the former Armilda May Henry in Shelbyville, Ky. In 1935 they made their way to the Muskegon Area. He worked for Continental Motors for over 27 years, retiring in 1968. The following year he took a position with fleet Engineering where he stayed until 1980. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He had been a member of the Mona Lake Boat Club and the Viking Lodge. Jim and his wife were both long time members of Lakeside United Methodist Church. Armilda preceded Jim in Death on December 15, 2002. Jim is SURVIVED by 4 children, Nerita Howard of Muskegon, Marvin (Maria) Howard of Muskegon , Jim (Allyson) Howard of Ferrysburg, and Marlene (Bob) Fitzgerald of Muskegon; 12 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren; and many, many nieces and nephews. Jim was also preceded in death by a son Leonel Howard in 1980, as well as 6 sisters and 2 brothers. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Tuesday 1PM at the Lakeside United Methodist Church, 2160 Crozier, with Pastor David Selleck officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service (Noon until 1PM). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Lakeside United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. INTERMENT will be made in Sunrise Memorial
