James R. Brown's Obituary
James Reed Brown, age 68, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at his home. He was born March 11, 1938, to James and Stella (Mayette) Brown in Muskegon, MI; and he married Carolyn Pepe April 14, 1962, in Brighton, MI.
Mr. Brown graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1956 and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan Tech, as well as a Master’s degree from the University of Michigan. He was employed as a mechanical engineer for SPX Corporation, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and also of the National Rifle Association, North American Hunting Club, and the North Ottawa Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; four sons: Robert (Kimberly) of Muskegon, David (Sheri) of Spring Lake, Bradly (Kimberly) of Spring Lake, Brian (Jody) of Spring Lake; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; an aunt, Bertha Kenjesky of Muskegon; and an uncle, George (Arlaine) Mayette of Muskegon.
A gathering to honor the life of Mr. Brown will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at V.F.W. Post 3734, 5201 Airline Rd, with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating.
