Jane M. Auburn's Obituary
Jane M. Auburn, age 102, went to be with her Lord and husband, Bill on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born on April 29, 1921 to Karl C. and Grace McCaleb in Muskegon. Jane married the love of her life, W.F. “Bill” Auburn on October 14, 1939 at Grace Lutheran Church, where she was a member and still attending services at the time of her death. Jane worked in the accounting departments at Borg Warner, Universal CIT, and Madison Manufacturing Company. In 1960, she and Bill bought the A&W on Lakeshore Drive and later started a second A&W in North Muskegon. The two moved in 1974 to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and then to Sebastian, FL in 1990 where they played for retirement homes, senior centers, and nursing homes in Vero Beach, Sebastian, and Melbourne. Jane was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, Bob McCaleb, sister, Ruth Fletcher, grandson, Michael, and her three sons, Charles, David, and William. She is survived by six granddaughters, one grandson, and several great and great-great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00PM, Thursday, September 7 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2651 Shettler Rd., Muskegon, MI 49444, with Pastor Joel Kluender officiating.
